These houses allow you to bring along your four-legged companions. Afterall, they deserve a holiday, too.
If you do want to bring your pet with you, there are a few conditions that we ask you to adhere to:
Please always check with HolidayMakers at the time of making your booking.
Pets are welcome only at those properties that are shown on the web site.
Some properties only allow pets if they remain outside.
Your booking confirmation letter will confirm whether the property allows pets.
At most properties where pets are allowed, you may bring up to two dogs or cats provided that you obtain prior permission from HolidayMakers. (Some properties only allow one dog, and some only one small dog.)
Dogs mustn't be left unattended in the holiday houses.
The Terms and Conditions that accompany your confirmation letter set out your obligations.
In particular, you will be charged if:
* droppings are not cleaned up from the yard
* the carpet is stained
* pets have been on furniture
If you bring a pet, you'll need to consider the following:
East Gippsland's local laws require dogs to be on a leash at all times when off the property, including on the beaches. And on the beaches, dogs are not permitted to swim at designated beaches or foreshore reserves between 1 Nov and 30 April (see below).
In summer, beware of ticks: check you pet daily.
There is a very good kennel in Metung - phone 03 51562526 - so you could drop your dog off at the start of your holiday, knowing it will be in good hands.

A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote:
'I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?'
An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who said:
'I've been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time, I've never had a dog steal towels, bed clothes or silverware or pictures off the walls. I've never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I've never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed, your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you're welcome to stay here, too.
